Our style has echoes of our history. British heritage represents our unique approach with a mix of traditional artisan features and innovative, contemporary materials. We have layering of pieces that tell stories and have personality. We always strive for ways to bring luxury eclecticism, patterns & colors while reflecting a sense of quality and elegance at the same time.
With this in mind we can provide exclusive sourcing access to British products (antiques, furniture, art, lighting, wallpaper, fabrics). If they not are available to procure via US representatives then we can arrange procurement direct from UK artisans, vendors and manufacturers. We also present product from other countries such as USA, Europe and Mexico to name a few. The best product selection will depend on the scope of work and we will always pull from the best sources to get the look!
2) New Construction Interior Design Solutions
(Interior (building material) Selection & Project Management Oversight)
We have a strong collaborative partnership with architects and builders to develop a comprehensive interior design for your home, covering creating any custom non-structural (eg. not load bearing) elements to space planning to interior building material selection and interior furnishings procurement. Navigating a new build, or initiating a new home renovation, can present major challenges; including lack of creative vision, inefficient use of space, managing an overwhelming number of choices, builder timelines, etc. This process can feel awfully daunting. Our core belief revolves around a luxury service of cohesive project management for busy clients. We have a holistic approach to seamlessly blend function and aesthetics, ensuring outstanding outcomes. Our central goal is to materialize our clients' visions, reflecting their values and preferences in a well-crafted concept through our three simple phases:-
Phase one is Onboarding & ensuring a thorough understanding of your vision and function of the spaces
Phase two is when we craft creative design solutions and procure products after client approval and payment
Phase three is where we carry out complete oversight of the interior transformation and installation as necessary always acting on the client’s preferences.
Throughout the latter step of construction & install phase, we offer continuous design guidance, meticulously addressing form, function, and decorative aspects to create spaces that resonate with our clients. Isy personally takes care of her clients throughout this entire three step process. All receive her undivided attention and project management. She cherishes the enduring relationships she cultivates with clients. 5)New or Existing Homes Styling
(Final Art & Accessory Installation)
The selection and arrangement of personalized accessories and artwork represent a pivotal final touch in any design endeavor, and it can also serve as a standalone service for clients or builders who are seeking the wow factor for clients prior to final walk through or big reveal. Styling includes things like room updates, collection reorganization, ‘shelfie’ presentation for new built-in’s or seasonal decorating. Our primary objective is to surpass our clients' aesthetic aspirations. In pursuit of this goal, we collaborate closely with our clients to pinpoint essential elements, such as new draperies, decorative pillows, artworks, ceramics, houseplants, or seasonal decor like Christmas adornments and party embellishments. Our aim is to craft well-thought-out, successful spaces that genuinely resonate with their lifestyle. We recently carried out a successful ‘shelfie’ transformation for Bethesda Chocolates and applied an exquisite Van Gogh cherry blossom wallpaper for EYMA hair salon in Bethesda. These are examples of explorations of commercial opportunities that are in alignment with our goals to achieve our signature charming high-end British inspired look. At the heart of our approach is the belief that not everything needs to be plain and minimal to achieve elegance. We embrace ornate plaster ceiling medallions, classical floor and ceiling trims or fireplace surrounds, delicate bullion trimmings on pillows, or laces and ruffles lending a romantic flair. We celebrate the art of layering textures, patterns, and embellishments to create spaces that feel alive and inviting.
4) Interior Redesign Refresh of Existing Homes
(& Furniture Procurement)
We breathe new life into existing homes by implementing various design strategies, such as refreshing color schemes, optimizing floorplans with carefully sourced furnishings, and transforming spaces like children's rooms into functional libraries or offices. In close collaboration with our clients, we curate a selection of new finishes, furniture, upholstered pieces, case goods, textiles, window treatments, floor coverings, accessories, and art. Once choices are finalized, we partner with our trusted vendors to guarantee the timely delivery of high-quality products and furnishings, ensuring a seamless design transformation process.
3) Major or minor Renovations of Existing Homes
(Project Managment Oversight)
In the realm of non-structural (eg. not load bearing) alterations to existing buildings, we work closely with architects and construction professionals to reimagine spaces geared towards addressing our clients' evolving needs due to ever changing life changes (Eg. New home, new baby, coastal home or condo in MD or DE, empty nesters, divorce, aging in place and redesign after a loved one has passed). Isy has worked with clients in all of these life phases and particularly enjoys bringing joy to these moments through design. She is a firm believer that good design changes and enriches lives and that “Form follows feeling” to quote Suchi Reddy from the field of neuroaesthetics which studies show that our body responds to good design and makes us spark joy (eg. via accelerated heartbeat and more)! Isy asks how clients want to feel in the space thus helping dictate the direction and outcome.
In every renovation our top goal is to efficiently allocate resources to enable us to create living environments that significantly improve our clients' lives. We advise the client to work with whichever contractor they feel most comfortable with in order to make their renovation experience as easy as possible. We will offer one or two construction teams for our clients to interview but if they want to work with their own that is certainly possible to help them feel most at ease and taken care of during this transformational (and at times emotional) process of life change.
The Three Phase Design Process

20-30 minute call to discuss project parameters and needs analysis. We will discuss how Cheltenham Interiors can best assist in the project. If the client feels that Cheltenham Interiors would be a good fit for their project, we send an electronic invoice for the design consultation fee and schedule a time to meet.

The design consultation is conducted after the design consultation fee has been collected, and is usually a 1-2 hour design consultation to meet the client and see the space in person. This is where we will discuss the project parameters in detail and outline a plan of action for how we will proceed in working together. The timeline, scope of work, and budget will be discussed as well as the process in working with Cheltenham Interiors. A working agreement will be created between Cheltenham Interiors and the client before proceeding to the schematic design phase.

Schematic design packages are created based on the unique needs of each client, project, and budget. Once the agreement and retainer has been received, Cheltenham Interiors will conduct a thorough site survey of the space and document the existing conditions. Initial plans, sketches, and concepts will be created and presented to the client for review, and after several rounds of refinement the plan should be firmed up, with the selections complete for the project.

Depending on the complexity of the project, this is where any construction documentation is created or custom cabinetry and millwork or furniture is refined and documented, being prepared for the drawings to go out to bid.

This phase involves the purchasing and follow through from the time the orders are placed to the time the project is installed.

Supervision of all deliveries and installations is a must, and quality control is of the utmost importance as the project is installed. Styling is also done once the room is ready for accessories and artwork to be brought in. We work closely with the homeowner to bring in personalized and unique things that add to the overall vision and bring the homeowner joy.
